Die weithin sichtbare Installation “vocal cords” wurde für die weite und gleichermaßen einsame Berglandschaft Kärntens konzipiert. Sie befindet sich auf einer Hügelkuppe unter dem “Haus der Winde”. Mit Gummiseilen, an drei in der Erde verankerter Holzpfähle, werden zwei Aluminiumplatten in die Luft gespannt. Das Gesamtausmaß beträgt ca. 3 x 7 x 1,3 m. Der Wind ist wesentlicher Bestandteil der Installation, der die Tafeln zu dessen Stimmbändern werden lässt. In Schwingung gebracht können sie sich berühren. Ein Band steht für Orpheus, das Andere für Eurydike.

The project “Vocal Cords” (3.0 x 7.0 x 1.3 m) can be seen from large distances and was conceived for the wide and solitary landscape of the Austrian Alps. It is located on a knoll under the “House of the Winds”. Two aluminum sheets are suspended in the air by elastic ropes connected to three wooden poles. Wind is the main component of the project by making the sheets into its vocal cords. When vibrating, they produce different sounds and can also touch each other. One sheet represents Orpheus, the other Eurydike.
